At Romotur, we would like to introduce you to our special interests tours. We have opted to start by offering an insight to one of the most representative features of the Basque Country: its gastronomy.

The way wine and food is understood and lived by the Basque has gained the attention and recognition of the culinary world. Here the gastronomy is as vital as its people and provides a perfect excuse for sharing time and conversation while enjoying from the simple, fresh and hearty meals of the traditional style cooking to the creative New Basque Cuisine that can be enjoyed at Michelin two and three star restaurants, in the privacy of the gastronomic clubs and societies or simply at the counter of the many bars that have Pintxos, small culinary delicacies.

No good meal is complete without a bottle of wine on the table. Enjoy discovering old wines such as the fruity and cheerful Txakoli, that now young wine makers have recovered as well as the new wines of Rioja that are the result of the more than 150 years of knowledge and that are produced in bodegas designed by some of the most prestigious architects in the world, like Frank Gehry, Santiago Calatrava or Rafael Moneo.

Practicing the culinary arts of a country or region is a perfect way to obtain a unique insight of its people and culture and that is why we offer also the chance to see and learn from the hand of local chefs and experts how these flavors are obtained and all the care put in to it.
