Tour Art & Culture
Day 1

Henry Moore -  Large figure in a shelter
Our guides will take you to the town of Gernika, a symbol of democracy and peace for the Basques. It is known all over the world thanks to Picasso, who portrayed the horror of the bombing that destroyed the town during the Spanish civil war. We will visit the Assembly House, the sacred oak tree and also the sculptures by Henry Moore and Eduardo Chillida, erected on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the bombing.

We will explore the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, an area that has been declared part of Unesco's Man & Biosphere project, which aims at preserving areas of unique cultural and natural values.

Back in Bilbao, and after a little rest, we will take a leisurely stroll through the city centre, the result of Bilbao's last expansion at the beginning of the 20th century, to the Old Part, the most lively area of the city, where you can enjoy the tasty pintxos and an excellent dinner in one of the many local restaurants to be found there.

Day 2

 Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
This day is dedicated to art in Bilbao. In the morning we will visit the Fine Arts Museum which houses an impressive number of pictorial treasures and is considered second in importance in Spain, after the Prado Museum in Madrid.

A short walk will take you to the world-wide known Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, where we will enjoy one of the best cuisines in the Basque Country, prepared by the famous chef Martin Berasategi.

After lunch you will be taken on a guided visit to this temple of architecture, as one of our former clients once called it. For those interested in architecture, our guides will take you on a walk along the river so you can visit the Zubi Zuri or white footbridge by Santiago de Calatrava before cruising down to the sea.

Day 3

Chillida Leku
The work of Eduardo Chillida is considered to be among the most symbolic and significant of our times. Now we have the chance to appreciate the evolution of this artist over a period of fifty years thanks to Chillida Leku where, in a 17th-century building and in the surrounding gardens amongst oak, beech and magnolia trees, his art is displayed.

Our visit to San Sebastian will take you along its beautiful shell shaped bay and through the old part where you have the chance to enjoy a glass of wine and one of the many imaginative culinary delicacies called pintxos.

Before exploring the coast with its magnificent views, impressive sea cliffs and picturesque towns, you will be offered the traditional menu of a Basque cider house.

Day 4

Vitoria - Gasteiz
A walk through Vitoria-Gasteiz, now capital of the Basque Country, will allow you to see how this city has evolved over the centuries.

Our visit takes us from the contemporary districts to the site of the original settlement, the itinerary covering every style from contemporary to gothic, before you enjoy your meal in one of the city's finest restaurants in a 16th century house.

We complete our day in Vitoria by offering you a beautiful panoramic view from the city's highest point: the bell tower of Holy Mary Cathedral.
